Exploratorium Chooses TELADATA for their Relocation!
Fremont, CA. April 29, 2008 – TELADATA has announced that they have been awarded the Exploratorium project in San Francisco, CA. Exploratorium will be relocating from their current location at the Palace of Fine Arts to Piers 15 and 17 on the Embarcadero.
Exploratorium’s new space will include approximately 200,000 square feet of museum space in Pier 15 and smaller space for Exhibit Services in Pier 17. Occupancy is currently planned for the end of 2010 and the Exploratorium will be open to the public in October 2011.
TELADATA began working with Exploratorium in January 2008 to develop the preliminary Schematic Design and Budgets for the Information Technology, Audio Visual, Security, and Telecommunications Infrastructure that will be supporting the daily operations at the museum. Exploratorium has engaged TELADATA to continue with Phase Two, which includes: Design Development, Value Engineering, and Construction Documents.
“It’s exciting to work with such a diverse team relocating this treasured institution from one iconic San Francisco location to the next,” said TELADATA’s project manager, Jens Hansen. “Everyone working on this project is exceptionally motivated to deliver a modern museum facility that the region can be proud of.”
The Exploratorium has been housed within the walls of San Francisco’s landmark Palace of the Fine Arts since 1969. The Exploratorium has hundreds of interactive exhibits in the areas of science, art, and human perception. The Exploratorium is known as a “museum of education center,” because it provides access to, and information about science, nature, art, and technology. TELADATA is excited to be involved in the relocation of this treasured San Francisco museum. |
