Position:
Senior Design Audio Visual Engineer/Project Manager
Basic Job Function :

Work as client advocate on corporate Audio Visual projects. Develop and deliver Teladata proposals to clients. Coordinate and lead project teams. As project lead; conduct discovery, analyze scope, develop design options, create budgets, manage cutovers, close out projects and transfer knowledge to client and actively engage in management decisions. Maintain responsibility for all final documentation presented to the client.

During the course of the projects; integrate all Teladata services as needed, identify out of scope tasks and present them to the client as required and obtain client approvals to proceed as needed.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Review client Audio Visual (AV) requirements and define scope of work.
Interview client resources including telecom, datacom, and facilities staff in order to define client objectives and confirm project scopes align with client objectives.
Identify/define project resources from all parties, i.e., client, Teladata, and vendors.
Review project AV infrastructure requirements for equipment.
Originate and analyze preliminary conceptual designs.
Create and manage Design Documentation.
Manage project scope of work and project team resources.
Create and manage Request for Proposals for client services.
Create “For Construction” documents.
Manage build out of AV infrastructure design .

Assist with Client Integration, service, troubleshooting, installation and configuration of existing and new systems as needed.

Manage RFI, Change Order process and reconcile vendor contracts.
Coordinate relocation of existing AV equipment (if applicable).
Develop documentation package and project management tools (as-built plans, AV cut sheets).
Approve client invoices;
Keep other Teladata Senior Project Managers informed about projects;
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

Experience in the design and construction process participating in client, architect, and contractor meetings. Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience. Certified Technology Specialist (CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I)). Programming experience for Extron, Crestron or AMX. Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Multidisciplinary working knowledge in the areas of electricity, electrical distribution, audio visual, video conferencing, paging, floor plan packages, and business structure. 3-5 years experience in audio visual systems, Project Management Design and Engineering. Must have the ability to manage multiple projects and constantly re-prioritze workloads, along with the ability to lead multiple teams of project management and documentation professionals to ensure quality results for clients. Must have and maintain excellent knowledge of AV technology and equipment, including: projectors, plasma, and LCD displays, Video Conference Systems, and AMX control systems and audio systems. Must have experience in the design and construction process, along with some experience with programming Extron, Crestron, or AMX. Strong writing skills also a must.

Level of Supervision:

Reports directly to AV Practice Group Manager. Peer review required on all project plans, budgets, RFP’s and final documentation. Team will consult on strategic decisions.

Regular and frequent travel to local client sites and occasional out of area travel to client  sites. 

 
Meetings:

Frequent meetings held at client sites and the home office.

Equipment: Consistent use of computers and phone.  Moderate use of copier and fax machine.  Must have a valid drivers license and have reliable means of transportation.
