| Project Manager Trainee |
| Basic Job Function: |
This position offers someone interested in construction management or a related field, the opportunity to actively train to be an Associate Project Manager. This individual will assist project managers as a client advocate on technology infrastructure projects. They will learn about the discovery, analysis, design, budgets, and build of IT Infrastructure. They will work closely with TELADATA staff to gain knowledge in the industry and the construction process. This position provides the individual with a great opportunity for growth, a team environment, and the opportunity to become a Project Manager. |
| Specific Duties and Responsibilities: |
| |
Will participate in the planning of technology infrastructure project requirements and learn scope of work |
| |
Involved with interviewing client resources including telcom, datacom, and facilities staff in order to define corporate project objective and confirm scopes align with client objectives |
| |
Learn project resources for all parties, i.e., client, Teladata, and vendors |
| |
Review project technology infrastructure requirements for equipment and services including but not limited to voice/data station cabling; network equipment, PBX, computer, server cabling; conduit infrastructure; computer, server, IDF, data center, MPOE, NOC, and lab room planning; environment support that includes HVAC, fire suppression, power, monitoring, lighting, and security |

Assist Project Manager with projects, equipment schedules, meeting notes, project schedules, and budgets |
| |
Assist with “For Construction” documents |
| |
Develop documentation package and Project Management tools |
| |
Assist with managing the build out of technology infrastructure |
| |
Assist in the relocation of business, i.e., move technology services |
| |
Manage RFI, Change Order process and reconcile vendor contracts |
| |
Work with RFI, the Change Order process, and rewrite vendor contracts |

| Knowledge and Skills: |
Interested in the design and construction process of IT Infrastructure and in learning about design, renovation, and relocation of corporate clients. Candidates should be pursuing or have a degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction/Facilities Management, Information Technology, Architecture with a special interest in IT or Telecommunications, a related field, or service in the Military. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient with PC’s and Microsoft Office i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Must have some ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and be willing to learn new skills and tasks. |
| Level of Supervision: |
All trainees will work side-by-side with Project Principals and Project Managers and will gain exposure to projects involving corporate campuses, data centers, healthcare, biotech, and high tech firms, and many more. Trainees will have Project Manager supervision to facilitate training and ensure strategic directions are met. |
